Standard time to backup/restore

Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

Standard time to backup/restore

Post by rsfelicio »

Hello guys,
I'm new on Nord's word .... My NE4 spend 25-30 min. to process a full restore/backup (memory 90% used).
This is a normal process? There are same method to save time?
I'm using Mac OS El Capitan.

Thanks in advanced.

Do not know about the NE4, but it takes more than that in the NS2. The USB interface works at USB1.1 speed so be patient :)
In the NS2 you can just backup the difference from the last backup if you chose the same file (I think, can't check now, better check the documentation) so the samples already there are not transferred again.

With Windows 10 it takes about the same amount of time for every backup.

Since I did my first backup of my Stage 2, which obviously takes quite a while, I just point the backup (when prompted) to the existing file. It's much faster as the differences are applied to the existing file (as said earlier by Mr_-G-). TIP: If you like to keep a few historical versions, just copy and paste that file before you start your next backup. Could be handy incase of any random corruption, though I've never seen it. Of course, remember to backup your backup :-)
