Help with split keyboard problem
I have created a programme for a song to enable me to toggle between Slot A and Slot B so that I can have different instruments to play at certain points in the song.
Slot A is Wurlitzer Piano
Slot B is Split keyboard with Tubular Bell Lower Split and organ upper split.
The problem is when I toggle from Slot B back to Slot A, the split keyboard is still in effect on the Wurlitzer which I don't want.
I would be grateful if anyone can offer me a simple solution.
Many thanks

Re: Help with split keyboard problem
You just need to assign the Wurly to play on all of the keyboard ... to do this you select all zones using the KB Zone Select button (under the piano volume knob) so that all three green lights are on - Lo Up Hi.

Spradders, the Wurly is as you suggest. The problem seems to be that when I toggle between slots, the split function/ zones default to one state or the other. Is keyboard split a global function ?

Re: Help with split keyboard problem
that doesn't sound right ... the split points apply to both slots, but you can choose which sounds on which slots are assigned to which splits. I may have to get the Nord out and have a go. I'm just across the water in Southampton!

No, keyboard split is not a global function, it should work properly. Are you remembering to save after you have assigned the Wurly to all the zones?john_nick wrote:Spradders, the Wurly is as you suggest. The split zones you set up are indeed common to both Slots, but which of the zones each sound is set to play on is programmable for each of the instruments in the Program. I think you are most likely just not setting it up correctly. When you go back to Slot A, both the split zones are still there, then you just set the Wurly to play on both sides of the split as spradders suggested. Once you have that working, save the Program and it should always work correctly. I'm not aware of any problem with the software not working properly.

Re: Help with split keyboard problem
Thanks folks, problem sorted.
On examination , Wurlitzer had only been saved with Up and Hi zone allocated. It now plays both sides of the split whilst retaining the setup I need in Slot B.
Kind regards

Re: Help with split keyboard problem
Sorry - new Nord 2Ex user,
Is there any way - you can put say Piano program A1.1 in lower section of split keyboard and Synth program A1.5 in upper split of keyboard?
The manual I have read 10 times and I cannot see how to do it? I end up with one instrument over the whole keyboard.
Please help
Annie

Re: Help with split keyboard problem
Hi Annie - a Programe (such as A1.1) defines what's happening with all three sections (piano, organ, synth) and includes all the info about splits, transpose, EQ, Slot A and B, etc etc. So you can't have select two programs at the same time and split them - because the program itself stores all the split info.
If you are looking for a simple piano / synth split, then just split the keyboard (using the KB zones button) - the split point lights up just above the keys - then assign the piano to the lower split (using shift and the KB zone select button just under the piano section volume knob), and assign the synth to the upper section (using shift and the KB zone select button just under the synth section volume knob). Job done - save this as a progam if you want to use it again.
If you wanted piano and synth layered for the lower split, with a different synth in the upper split, then you can do this too ... in this case use the other Slot (e.g. Slot B) and set-up the other part you need ... you can assign it to any or all of the split zones as above.
It is very easy when you get the hang of it. Have a play.
... just one other thing, if you've spent ages tweaking a synth sound you can save that sound in the synth section so that you can easily recall it and use it later - follow the manual for this - but it might make it quicker for you to assign a synth sound to a split.
