sudden volume drop in two programs
Hi, everyone. I've been reading this forum for several weeks as I learn my new E5D, but this is my first post.
Last night at band rehearsal, I suddenly lost volume one on the main programs I use for Hammond organ. I feel pretty sure I didn't touch anything -- we had just finished running through a song and were running through it a second time (The Meters cover of Come Together, btw -- good stuff), just suddenly no volume. I turned it off and back on, no improvement. Switched to the next program (a Hammond squabble) and it was full volume, so no problem with the cable or head (playing through the PA). So I adjusted the drawbars on the squabble to match the other program and went on with the song. Other programs seemed okay until I went to my Wurlitzer, and again no volume. I used a Rhodes for rehearsal. (Actually those Hammond and Wurly programs are my main two, so it's strange that those just happened to be the two that went haywire.)
THis morning back home and all seems well, all programs putting out full volume. Still that was highly disturbing, despite the work arounds. Any guesses as to what happened?? I really want that not ever to happen during a gig.

Re: sudden volume drop in two programs
Hey,
Here is my guess:
Are you using a Volume pedal ?
Please, notice the two buttons in the middle of the panel: CTRLPED (for both, PART UPPER and PART LOWER).
When this buttons are ON (red LED is lit), the Volume pedal (expression pedal) is needs to be connected.

Re: sudden volume drop in two programs
That sounds like a very good guess. I did have a volume pedal connected to play around with the wah -- I don't usually use it. And yes the CTRLPED light is lit on those programs. That must have been it. Thanks.

When these kinds of strangenesses occur, always a good idea to disconnect pedals to see if anything changes.

It does work with girlfriends, sort of. First you have to actually marry her, though. And then it doesn't really matter what you do with pedals, strangeness will occur and never change (unless for the worse)

Re: sudden volume drop in two programs
I am experiencing sudden drops in volume while playing the Electro 2 - I do use a volume pedal but it’s hooked up from the output jack, not the pedal jack. If I turn off the instrument and turn it back on, the volume is back to its original setting. What’s up?
