Nice toys, would have been fun to have then when I was a kid starting to play keys.... actually I started with a "mini keys" thing

For Yamaha, after all the noise in the completely out of proportion campaign looks a bit more of a Redface
....

Yes, after giving us teasers mentioning CS80s, the reality is very different. Frankly, what they released was much what I was expecting.
Given the success of other similar offerings from other manufacturers it's clear that, like it or not, "traditional" keyboard players are no longer the target market for the big synth manufacturers. We are alas, too few. And Yamaha would have been crazy not to go where the money is.
I think anybody hoping for a renaissance in serious analog polysynths following in the footsteps of Dave Smith is going to be disappointed. I suspect he will remain the only game in town. And he plays a damned good game. More power to him
