Disclaimer: Please forgive me if this is incredibly basic. I am new to this.
Hi, I recently purchased a Lead 2 rack and while it sounds great I am having a little trouble with the 4 programme slots. I am currently sending midi out from my DAW on MIDI channel 1. In this instance it only plays the programme on Slot A. If I transmit on Chan. 2 then it only plays Slot B, 3 plays Slot C etc. If I set them all the Slots to be MIDI chan. 1 then they all play at the same time. Obviously having to change midi channel each time I want to change slot kind of defeats the quick and easy access to different sounds the slots are supposed to provide. Is there a way I can set only on one midi channel but only have the slots play when they are selected? (or another suitable solution).
Anyway thanks in advance!

Re: Lead 2 Rack Programme slot issue
Hi Agpik1,
And welcome to this forum!
The Lead Rack designs differ from the Lead Key designs. The keyed versions work exactly as you want your Rack to behave -- but the Rack doesn't. The assumption is that rack units are meant to be housed remotely, so the functionality is purposely changed with them. You will be happier with the keyed version if that's the way you want to work. And if you still want rack convenience, you can chop a keyed NL2 down to rack size.
Bless,
Pablo

Re: Lead 2 Rack Programme slot issue
Hmmm. Its a little annoying as I got the rack because I already have a MIDI keyboard and i'm trying to keep my gear on the small side! I suppose I will just have to structure my 1-40 user programmes very carefully..... and learn how to use the performance function.
Thanks for the help though, I spent several very confused hours yesterday with that!

Re: Lead 2 Rack Programme slot issue
Performance Mode may be your best road to salvation in this case, effectively enabling you to use more or fewer slots on a per performance basis.
