no new stage AGAIN!!!

Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

To quote the post in that link, courtesy of user "MathOfInsects":
Many apologies if this has been covered, I did do a search but I may have missed it.

I figured I'd pass along the following bit of dope regarding a potential Stage 3 release. Talking with their rep at NAMM, he says a Stage 3 is currently in active R&D, and that a release is possible for next year (2016). But he says two factors push against any rush to market (meaning, release may be later than 2016, or at least later than NAMM 2016):

First, the Stage 2 is still selling its smug red ass off, and Nord sees no real reason to compete against its own product on the market until it's started to run its course.

Second, the company wants to ensure that any Stage 3 will be a Great Leap Forward over the 2, so they are taking their time finalizing the prototype to meet or exceed market expectations.

So: Earliest possible date is NAMM 2016, with some indication that they'd be willing to wait longer as well.

So...at some indeterminate time in the future there may be a Stage 3 and if there is, it will be better than a Stage 2....

said some random geezer on the internet using a false name.

Who'd a thought it?

In summary: If you want to keep yourself updated with the latest features, do not choose a Nord Stage.

Nord Electro seems rather sell unexpectedly bad because they replace them as often.
....and yep, I may be a bit ironic ;)

As long as there are no really new features available e.g. physical modeled pianos, ability to include VST plugins,
loading samples from SD cards, more advanced string resonance algorithms ... , the release of a new STAGE hardware is
superfluous for people who don't need 25 pianosounds - I think it's the majority of users - at the same time.

Many issues could be addressed with a new class of pianosamples (e.g. typical other brand stagepiano sounds, a sample
containing only "soundboard and felt components" so that the player can morph between "wooden warm and brilliant",
... and why no decent MONO?).

And even velocitylayering (at least two layers) could easily be achieved by adding some MIDI eventmapingfunctionality.

For all this NO new hardware is required. But I see that CLAVIA has to sell hardware ... this demands beside a new
modell number some additional features. Therefor extensive OS improvements for current models will not happen.

I agree with new features requirement for a new Stage but I can't say I agree with you on physical modelling or VST. For one thing Physical modelling is no good for live purposes, in my opinion. Secondly, VST doesn't seem like something that would fit. Nord has its signature in their instruments, I don't believe VST will be one of it.

I like NS2 as it is and it does a good job, an extra memory wouldn't hurt but as it is, it's very enough. So if the new Stage is to be release I really hope that Nord put everything they have into developing it. And, with all my heart, DO NOT turn it into a workstation.
