Electro 2 high keys trigs low notes

Hi!

My old electro 2 trigged very low notes when i played high keys in todays soundcheck. Also midi out stopped working in the middle of the gig. In configuration Midi ch. Didn't show any number, i think it was showing Letter "E". Some keys in the midrange didn't produce Any Sound at all.

Does anybody know what could cause such strange behaviour?

Sounds like your NE2 needs to visit a Nord doc somewhere to check that out. A few of the possibilities are: someone accidentally reversed upper and lower ribbon cables (only applies if it was recently disassembled and reassembled), a configuration jumper has failed (an internal component which instructs the waking instrument whether it is 61-note, 73-note or rack version of the Electro), or scanning IC failure on the mainboard.

Thanks for reply, Pablo! It it could be the jumper you mentioned. NE2 service manual gives these symptoms if configuration isn't right:

- High notes trig low notes or notes are trigged randomly.
- Keyboard not working at all.
- Buttons affect other parameters.

So these sound very much like mine NE2… I'm located in Finland BTW.

If you've seen that manual, then you also know how the config scheme works -- rather a pain to get to, but once you're there easy to deal with.
