Organ Clicks on the Nord Electro 3 HP
Hello there !
I've got a little problem with my Nord Electro 3 HP. When I purchased this keyboard, I knew there would be a Leslie click, built in to sound like a REAL B3 organ.
The first time I played on it, it didn't bother me, but after a few rehearsals and a few concerts with my band, the click was more and more of a problem. I managed to soften it with the SOUND settings, but it is still far more present than any videos I've watched on Youtube.
Having purchased this Nord second hand, I'm hoping the click comes from bad settings from the last owner, and that it's not a technical problem.
Can someone pleaaaaaase help me !!

Hi,
did you check the manual? Did you check the settings in the "key click level"-setting in the Sound Menu? There are three possibilities (low, normal, high) to set this parameter.
Furthermore you could perhaps reduce the amount of treble via EQ-knob. You know that the EQ settings are stored with each sound individually.

How are your drawbar settings? If you don't have the strongest drawbars all the way out at 8, then the click will be louder compared to the notes. So, if you have 566500000 then changing to 788700000 will raise the level of the notes compared to the key-click.
Using strong overdrive or compression would also make the clicks seem louder.

Good evening,
I have indeed used the SOUND program and set it to Low, but it still is unusually present.
When you say EQ-Button, do you mean the effect with the knobs at the top ? Gain, Low, Medium, Treble ?
Thanks for the link, i'll check it out.
Bye !

Re: Organ Clicks on the Nord Electro 3 HP
JiminWales, I use my keyboard for a Reggae / Ska band, so I either set my drawbars to a simple 800000000 for a bubble effect (where the click is a lot louder), placing another keyboard over the top with a piano sound, or to a 888100000 for a lead sound. I'll try your suggestion and see what it sounds like.
Thank-you very much for your help !

You could find this out by searching the manual for "compression", but here is what I can see from the NE3HP phtotos: there is a dial labelled SPKR/COMP and the led combination labelled COMP in the Effects section. Maybe you could try those.

Brief question: are you sure you're talking about the key click and not the percussion feature?

I wasn't telling you what drawbar settings to use - your own examples should be fine as you already have the strongest ones set to 8.IzoNoDoubt wrote:JiminWales, I use my keyboard for a Reggae / Ska band, so I either set my drawbars to a simple 800000000 for a bubble effect (where the click is a lot louder), placing another keyboard over the top with a piano sound, or to a 888100000 for a lead sound. Overdrive and compression could be happening either in the Nord or external amplification. If you're using the Electro's Leslie sim then don't worry about it's compressor effect since you can't have both at the same time. If your amplifier sound is clean (no distortion or effects other than perhaps reverb), then as suggested, only eq will lower the click.

Re: Organ Clicks on the Nord Electro 3 HP
Click... Um, There is a certain amount of electro mechanical noise associated with a B3. The Electro does a damn good job of recreating it. But it doesnt click. Not like that..
So, is the percussion setting set to ON? That, is a "click". Depending on what you have it set to, and the tonal qualities of your amp... That, can be annoying as all hell.
Try that... That to me, sounds closer to the likely suspect... Especially if you've done the rest and it hasnt gone away...
best of luck brother!
