Brass sample 'horn trio' vs 'bary+horn trio'?

Hey everybody!

I created a lot of of patches using the 'bary+horn trio' sample, I absolutely love the natural sound of the horn trio in that particular sample. But what I don't need is for this sample to be a split. So the other day, I replaced it with the sample 'horn trio'...easy as 1-2-3.
As I recall, the latter sounded one octave higher, but most of all much thinner than the bary+horn trio. I really need a good sounding, fat bunch of horns across the whole keyboard (NS2); ended up using (and modifying) one of the pop brass samples. Pretty nice as well, but not as nice sounding to my ears as the bary+horn trio.
Anyone else ever encountered this?
