3 Oscillators (or almost)
I've been playing a bit with the double oscillator in the NS2 synth and I realised that one can "almost" make a 3 note chord by using the "dtn" function to set the frequency of the 2nd hidden oscillator and use the square wave LFO to create a "trill" between 2 frequencies. So if the main oscillator is, let's say, playing C, the shape dial and the LFO modulation knobs can be set to alternate between the notes of E and G, or F and G.
So one can play an "almost" major chord CEF or a fourth CFG by playing only 1 key with one of the slots.
Sadly the resolution of the OSC LFO Mod pot is not fine enough to allow all possible intervals, but some others can be set as well.
Adding echo and reverb can hide the trill a bit and make it sound almost like a chord.
Here is an example of CFG setting playing 1 note at a time.
and here are 2 patches. These use both slots in that configuration, but there is no need to use 2 slots. If you come across other interesting settings, please share them here.
Enjoy.

Re: 3 Oscillators (or almost)
Very interesting.
I did the same thing for the tune Turn Me Loose, by Loverboy. The beginning is three notes that glide together up an octave. I had to use both slots and the same technique to create that sweep using the detune function and the legato glide. I can post it later if anyone wants to hear it.
Not bad for a one-oscillator synth engine!

Geez Mr. G (and you too DJ), that's really great example of "thinking outside the box" to achieve really remarkable results. Your "Patch Creator" tags are well-earned!

Re: 3 Oscillators (or almost)
Here is the patch. No samples needed. There the second quick note has to be hit after the first low note is released, the third octave has to be played before releasing the second so the glide takes place. Works at the original tempo of the record. I also included the other patch I use for the song which has the poly synth in the left split and the percussive sound in the right.
Enjoy!
I will post this in the Patches area as well, if the Mods have no objection-

Re: 3 Oscillators (or almost)
That was a great example DJ! The problem is that there is a step glide happening in the song! Wonder why Nord doesn't include glide in poly mode too? It should be something included in upcoming updates! Thx for the idea on for that Loverboy tune!

Re: 3 Oscillators (or almost)
DJ, I found a way to get a step glide happening in the Turn me loose intro! On one of the panel's either A or B turn the release knob all the way up. Turn the KB HOLD on both panels. Then put the arpeggio button on repeating the one panel repeating 1 note. That will be the same panel used that the release is all the way up on. You won't notice the arpeggio until you start bringing the release knob back about half way on the panel chosen with arpeggio which you would do as you glide the notes up...It's a pretty cool way to get the step put in the original version of the intro part played. I'm new at this and when I learn how to put a video or mp3 example.. I'll present a clearer picture of this... Lol Thx again for the tip, and NORD KEYBOARDS ROCK!
