Help me please !

Post by goriar »

Hi to everyone !

I'm sorry for my bad english, but i need some help !

I had a nord stage EX and now i have a nord stage 2 ...

On my old keyboard i often play my song with a sound named "DIGILOG DUAL PAD" category: program, position: 6:3

I've tried to put it into my new nord stage 2, but i can't and if is possibile i don't know how to do that.

Can someone make the same sound for ns2?

Is very important for me, really.

Hi Goriar,

where are you located in Austria? If I do this for you, you may have to buy me a beer someday... Krimmler Wasserfälle is one of my favorite places to visit while there...actually, ANY Wasserfälle works nicely for me! ;-)

because I have both EX and NS2, I've done this occasionally. It is a crazy busy time for me right now with 9 gigs in 8 days, but I have some daytime hours and will try this out for you.

In the past I have had ~70% success rate in getting reasonably good translations of synth sounds from EX to NS2. The EX synth section, if one disregards the lack of sample capability for a moment, is in some respects more powerful that the synth on the NS2. I've come across a few really kickass synth programs on EX which simply cannot be replicated on NS2 without resorting to sampling the EX and importing those .wavs.

I'm hoping that you're not in a huge hurry because it may be next week before I get a chance to work on this in depth -- unless it turns out to be an easy one.

Bless,

Pablo

P.S. -- please drop me an email at my work address to jog my memory, because it will not be unlike me to forget...

Hi Daniele,

Why I thought Austria I have no idea - have you changed flags recently or was I simply seeing things?

Very tricky finding that program -- it was 5:3 on my machine! I know, you were simply making it a little more challenging. ;-)

Okay, so here is my version of the DIGILOG DUAL PAD. I'm not 100% happy with Slot B, but frankly it will be VERY difficult to get it exact so after an hour of playing around with it, I decided I was close enough and you can tweak the rest of the way to taste.

Part of the difficulty lies in the fact that the digital waveforms available in the NS/NSEX Synth's Osc Section are not necessarily contained in the Wave section of the NS2's Synth Section. It may be impossible to get exact. Also, there are plenty of envelope things going on there, with the Mod Env set to repeat, a setting which is not available on the NS2.

So here's the program in NS2 format:
NS2 DIGILOG DUAL.ns2p

Comments/suggestions/corrections happily accepted, and apologies for absence of mp3 file, but not set up for that at moment.

Pablo
