damasp, I have the NE4 SW 73. The only difference I believe from the NE3 SW 73 for the purpose of playing these samples is the Long Release function. I have played the samples with the Long Release engaged and not engaged and I notice no discernible difference so I don't think you are missing anything playing these samples on your NE3.

Thanks Nord!!!!! After a couple of hours fiddling in the studio, here's my review:

Nice, very complementary addition to the EP line. My impressions are in line with many of the users who have reviewed so far: it's a more aggressive piano, yet it still is possible to tame that beast. It fits perfectly alongside EP1 (Low Deep). I've set up my new go-to EP patch with two panels that I will alternate between according to context:

Panel A: EP7 PLUS a sine wave bass on the lower part of the keyboard (I usually do LH bass). This panel is for the more aggressive sounds and solos
Panel B: EP1 for those more mellow sounds.

EP 1 has a lot of low end already, so no need to layer a sine wave on the lower part. But adding it to EP7 allows both panels to have a more equal, balanced frequency spectrum.
I also had to adjust the Piano section's volume between bot panels, as EP7's level is slightly lower than EP 1's.
Finally, I used a harder dynamics setting for EP7, as this seems to give me more nuanced, expressive possibilities.

Interesting. To make some space to fit the new ep7, I kept EP3 (MKII shallow) , 4 (MKV closed), and 5 (bright tines). I wanted to maintain the sound variety as wide a possible. For some reason I felt the EP1 was more similar to the EP7 than the others.
I wish Clavia comes up with an expansion board for their kbds to fit more. I am sure that they would sell well.

Hi Mr-G, you know, from what I've seen of the Nord Stage's circuit board (thank you Mathjis), there is nothing to connect such a mem expansion, unfortunately.
IMHO, this EP7 is a must have !
We all have our beloved programs already using other EPs ... I end up with that selection :

These days, the keyboard is stuck on 1 prog, named "EP7" ;)
This new EP7 is a new pleasure to play. It really gives the keyboard "more value" IMO.
I have no real idea of the work required to make it. I believe it's a huge work/process to make a sound like that. As we say in my country "Each to his own job! " ;)

Hm... what a shame there is no easy expansion connection.

Also, since every bit counts, it would be good to have a way of using those small empty bits left in the npno ram.
Maybe Clavia could make alternative smallish npno samples (Pianet N, PH and RMI pianos nsmp are already available) to load in there and free a bit of the nsmp ram.

Hi,
I managed to turn the program wheel, press a few buttons, quit the new EP7, and go to the new Yamaha CP80.
It sounded "Toto", here is a record :

Hi all,

am I the only one who is a bit disappointed by the EP7?
I wonder where are the 31.1 MB, find it "metallic" and don't get a good program with it.

Much more inspired by the new Wurli...

Yeah not so taken with the new Rhodes or the older ones…. the CP70 however is amazing… the best CP70 on any keyboard I think.

I played a CP70 last year on a record I was making and I could barely play it! My fingers were tired after 5 mins… Soundwise the new sample is indiscernible to the real thing in my opinion!

ditto on both points. out of all the other Rhodes I found the most similarity with EP1.
replaced EP1 with EP7 and all the programs originally furnished with EP1 sounded very similar yet better.
