Re: NEW: Nord Lead A1
I still do not understand what this "quicker" stuff is about. Are any of the other synths "slow" in some sense that I fail to perceive?
The video is good. Some interesting things in there. The logan ensemble emulation sounds great.
I am guessing that the several modes of the oscillator are "one at a time" like in the NS2? So, if you choose, let's say a double oscillator detune, you cannot apply sync and so on?

It seems a little soon to be suggesting major changes in the Nord Lead 4. Have sales been disappointing?rob_lee wrote:
Near the end he says some of the features may go in to the Nord Lead 4 but makes no promises

Re: NEW: Nord Lead A1
Yes...how many people would prefer the A1's ensemble FX over the NL4's (2!) talk box FX?!
The ensemble FX in the video demo earlier in this thread sound great. Surely they have a much broader appeal/use than talkbox effects.
I have been in touch with Kristofer Ulves, the man in the video, seems like a nice guy. In the video when he talks about some of the A1's feature possibly going into the Nord Lead 4, check it out, his face says more than his words do! It's pretty clear that some of the features of the A1 that the NL4 currently lack will be implemented - I hope it's the most glaringly obvious addition of these new phaser/ensemble FXs!!!

Re: NEW: Nord Lead A1
Personally i don't see the need for the 2 Talk FX on my NL4's.. i'd much rather prefer to use phaser and chorus. I don't know why there'd be 2 Talk FX but on the NL4 as they both sound the same anyways which is at best the waste of at least 1 of the FX slots which could have had phaser implemented. I'm new to Nord synths, i'm happy with my NL4's but i must admit to being a bit miffed after seeing that the new A1 had these FX that should be a basic on any synth (well at least the phaser) anyways.

rob_lee if you haven't done so, write a message via the Clavia website to Kristofer Ulves asking for the implementation of these FX on the NL4. There are so many people who agree with you.

Re: NEW: Nord Lead A1
I'm talking from a sound programmers point of view here. I love the Nord 4's i have here and when i first had one delivered i thought why 2 Talk fx.. i thought right away it was a rush job. These 2 FX sound the same, have one sure but having 2 is sort of a joke. Being new to these synths i can't complain much cause the rest of the NL4 features suit me. I was really miffed to see the FX section of the new A1 though. Not having after touch on synths is bad enough imo.ian obrien wrote:rob_lee if you haven't done so, write a message via the Clavia website to Kristofer Ulves asking for the implementation of these FX on the NL4. Okay i will write to these guys but i doubt that'll do any good. I would have loved a phaser effect on the NL4 i'd have got some more great sounds out of it. I hope any future updates can port the A1 fx to the NL4.
I'll probably end up getting an A1 in the future if there's a rack version made available should the A1 fx not make it in to the NL4

Re: NEW: Nord Lead A1
Ensemble and Phaser in NL4 would really make my day
I sold my Solina a few years ago and whilst I do own a Small Stone I would love to call up a patch and have it right there.

Re: NEW: Nord Lead A1
I can well understand the desire for expanded effects choices on ANY instrument, but the Talk1/Talk2 should not be such a mystery. Some Nords have had Phase1/Phase2, Chorus1/Chorus2, and Flange1/Flange 2 for many years. The "1" is intended to be gentler than the "2." This is long-established practice.
