Hi, I was wondering if anyone has or knows of any uses for the raspberry pi, or a similar board, with the ns2?
I was hoping it could be used to change the programs to save fiddling with the ns2 buttons while playing,is this possible?
Thanks

Of course it is. If the USB-MIDI connection of the NS2 is class-compliant, you should just be able to plug it into the Raspi.
But what do you want to achieve exactly? You still need way to control the Raspi to trigger program changes. It's easy to connect buttons or foot pedals to the Raspi, but you need at least basic experience with electronics and programming for that.
I very useful program to act as a MIDI Router and Processor is mididings. I recently wrote a small web app, which can run on the Raspi, to control mididings. You can then interface to the app from any computer on the network with a modern browser, for example with a tablet. You could connect your tablet to the Raspi via WLAN. Unfortunately you then probably need a powered USB hub for the Raspi as well, because it does not provide enough power on the USB ports for several devices. Which leaves you with a lot of cables. My app is still a very early proof-of-concept only, so it's no out-of-the box solution. I eventually plan to use this to add splitting and layering capabilities to my NE3 in conjunction with an external MIDI sound module (e.g. my Roland JV-1010).
As the OS on the Raspi I use the latest Raspian, where all the necessary software (ALSA, Python, etc.) is installed already or can be easily added via the package manager.

Thanks,
I'll have a look at all the different options for the raspberry pi and for the midi foot controllers
Thanks again for the advice and suggestions

Can't say for now. The thing is why I came up with those, is that someone on Facebook had the same question about controlling the programs with your feet.
There were some answers which I gave you above.
I haven't got any experience with it myself.
Sorry
