led & screen problem on a NR-2X

Post by recou »

Hello everyone,

recently, some bugs appeared on my NR2X.

1) It seem that leds are always lit. Not as bright as the normal way, but it makes things complicated because I don't really know which one is really on. So, for example, it makes difficult to know which wave form is used, which is particularly annoying.

2) my screen has began to bug 3 days ago 1.08 now looks like 1.06 for example.

Could those bugs be an os problem?

If not, is there a way to fix them?

Thanks a lot and have a nice day.

Any chance that your unit is still in warranty? If so, I'd send it back it have it checked out.

An OS issue (or rather a flash chip that has developed a fault) is an option, but there are more things that might be malfunctioning. In general there isn't really much you can do to solve this yourself, unless you happen to be an electronics whizz with the right equipment, and even then you might not be able to fix it.

I'd contact Clavia or the distributor for France about this. They can let you know how to proceed to get this solved. Note that if you contact support at Clavia about this, they may refer your question to the french distributor and ask them handle this.

Just out of curiosity: this it still work properly via MIDI?

Hello,

thanks for your reply (even if it appears rather bad news...).

Yes it still works properly via MIDI, no pb at all.

Odd. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think it is the same processor that takes care of MIDI and the front panel; if one works and the other doesn't, it doesn't look like it is an issue with the firmware.

Anyway, this isn't really helping. I think a real technician needs to have a look at your Nord. Hopefully you'll get this solved soon. A properly working Nord is the best Nord. :-)
