Load Wav Files into Nord Lead 2X

Post by Break_Point »

Hi

I want to load a wav sample into the Nord Lead 2x so i can use it as a layer in a patch.

If that is not possible, is there a way to convert a wav sample into a sysex file so i can store it in sysex librarian?

Thanks

Pete

Unfortunately not. You need two things to have the possibility of doing this: some memory in the Nord that you can access to store the wav data into, and a user sample option. The memory in the Nord Lead is all dedicated to patch storage, and there is none spare to load data into in any form (wav or sysex). Then the oscillators lack the ability to use any such data (the internal wavetables in some Nord synth products are different from samples and unchangeable).

The Nord Wave should do what you require, or the Stage 2 or Piano 2. The Electro 3HP/4 has user sampling but not layers/splits. But none of this is helpful if you already have the Lead 2x - like most synths out there at the moment, you can't add user samples.
