Keyboard seat suggestions?
Anybody has a suggestion for a good portable keyboard seat?
Anything (model/brand) to avoid?
Is it better with back rest or without?
Thanks!

Re: Keyboard seat suggestions?
Hi Mr-G,
I have ac Pearl D1000N Drum Throne in front of a HA88 keys Nord, and would buy it again.
Before that, I tried a standard rectangle piano bench (broken while playing), and a Tama HT30 drum throne (too soft).
Cheers,
Frantz.

Thanks frantzkb. I like the threaded height adjustment.
I had been looking at the Mapex MXT760A which also had a thread:

Re: Keyboard seat suggestions?
I'm trying not to bend my back, but rotate (thanks to the seat, unlocked), and when the supporting foot cannot move away from the pedal, the seat foam should not be soft, or I'd fall. It's like a car that does not bend in curves, thanks to firm shock absorbers, its foam is quite firm. It's not perfect. Don't forget that it's a drummer's seat ... maybe we should bend the keyboards ...

And price? Well - "Price…we’ll be happy to tell you if you contact us – but let’s just say about the price of a high quality acoustic grand piano."

Re: Keyboard seat suggestions?
I bought a Quiklok BX-718 seat about a year and have been very pleased with it. I use it with my Stage 2 HA88 and it is fairly wide and stable and you can slide along it in gigs when you want to go use the full extent of the keyboard range.
For about £60 it has certainly reduced the strain on my back I was getting through standing up at gigs (the legs on the Stage 2 are just too short for some who is 6' 2" tall).

Re: Keyboard seat suggestions?
One of my seats or benches, is a regular folding chair with a slightly padded back and seat. It's a bit larger than a regular metal folding chair and is very comfortable. I don't always sit back, but it's good to know I can.
I've have some back issues and I find this helps. I keep this one for practice sessions and I plan to buy another for home home use. I think it was $25 at "Bed Bath and Beyond". It may not look professional but it works out better for me than my other benches.
