Hey,
I've used & LOVE my QSC K-12 for over a year now. But I have a question. I am thinking of going LIGHT on weight & the K-10 is LIGHTER than the K-12. NINE (9) lbs less heavy than the K-12.
It also changes a few things. The K-10 would have less of a low range (right?), a wider Nominal Coverage (90 versus 75 degrees on the K-12.) So, thoughts? Why you would, why you wouldn't change from a K-12 to a K10. Why "anything" related to the two different QSC models ... if you have used them (or own) with your NORD or more on a regular basis.
I have NOT been disappointed with the QSC. Acoustics, inside & out, room, etc, change no matter what amp you may have. But this powered QSC K-12 speaker has been terrific. Beats the Roland 550 & the JBL PRX612 that I had before. Sold both!
Thanks!
CH

The K10 has plenty of Bass. The dispersion characteristics are based on the woofer size. The cone mid/tweeter is the same in all 3 models. You probably won't notice a difference in high end dispersion.
I replaced a 15 inch JBL EON G2 with a K10 and find it portable, versatile, & loud.

I use a K-10 and it covers all the bases well for my keyboards. I even use my line 6 Pod Pro in Studio mode and both keys and guitar sound great. If you really need more bass, you can use the Deep setting. I find it has more than enough bass. In some cases, I use the Ext (Ext Sub) setting to roll off the bass-

Re: QSC (K-series) & Nord ?
I have a pair each of the K8s, K10s, and K12s to cover different situations, etc. I play a NP2, NS2 and NE4 -- although not all at once). Pop, rock, gospel, blues, etc. Love the boards, love the amps.
All of the QSCs have plenty of bass for most normal keyboard styles, unless you're planning to use a Taurus bass pedal for your next arena gig, and then you should be considering a standalone sub.
Acoustically, the biggest difference between them all seems to be "throw" -- the ability to project sound to the back of the room. The K8s have the widest angle of dispersion (135 degrees?) and the shortest throw. Great for onstage when you're all crammed together, smaller venues, etc. Conversely, the K12s are strongly directional and project sound quite well -- think midsized FOH for a PA, or a killer floor monitor pointed right at you when it's a noisy band. All of the QSCs K series are fearsomely loud, reliable, sound great, reliable, etc.
The K10s are a nice compromise between the two extremes. If I had to go with just one pair, it'd be them -- although the smaller K8s (even a single one!) are great for smaller gigs, rehearsals, etc. They are so light and compact as to be deceiving (as in "is that all you brought?") followed by requests to turn down just a hair.
Regarding your particular choice, I'd offer that you're giving up nothing by going to a K10, other than the weight, size, etc. And if you want to give up even more, check out the K8s.
And get the totes they sell with them -- a good investment.
