the only problem if i listen a bass sound, sounds with bass, or some others, it have a distortion little noise on background...like bad contact.....if i hear the sound of NL2 directly from the audio input to the headphone i dont hear it...
what can it be?USB?Computer?soundcard?

Can you post a recording of this noise?
Also, how big of a buffer are you using in Live and are you running on Windows or a Mac? If running on Windows, are you using ASIO drivers for the Fast Track?

i will record tomorrow, im using 256 of buffer, i tested more and less, same sound, using Windows with the best asio Driver....
if i sound with mix button off (fast track button) no noise, when i pass the signal trought DAW then back to the interface i have the noises, like a noise wave of the synth hehehehh
Re: Nord2x with background noise in Live9 with Fast Track Pr
I was suspecting drop-outs (crackling) due to buffer under runs, but you're using a fairly large buffer and you're already using the ASIO driver. A recording would still be useful though.luizfbw wrote:i will record tomorrow, im using 256 of buffer, i tested more and less, same sound, using Windows with the best asio Driver....
I've seen issues (especially with Windows XP) where there were drop-outs even with high buffer sizes. If it does turn out you have drop-outs, you might need to tune your Windows installation for optimal recording performance. Luckely there are good guides (and some tools to test your setup).
I had to check the manual for the Fast Track Pro (I had the Fast Track Ultra, which works differently) to see what that mix knob does, it seems to allow you to switch what comes out of the outputs, from 100% the same as the inputs to 100% the same as the return from your PC (and everything in between).luizfbw wrote:if i sound with mix button off (fast track button) no noise, when i pass the signal trought DAW then back to the interface i have the noises, like a noise wave of the synth hehehehh
I wonder if the signal sent back to the Fast Track from your computer already contains that noise or if it gets added when you send it to the Fast Track. If it already contains it, it should be in the recording; if the recording does not have it but you do hear it when you play it back, it must occur when you play it back.
If you listen to music you know well via the Fast Track, do you also hear this noise? In other words, if you play something back that you did not record yourself, does it have this noise?

im using Live9 for psytrnce....well.... its not from the notebook, i tested the NL2x with the Interface on another computer and same noise and bad quality in bass....
no i dont hear, it have great quality indeed....If you listen to music you know well via the Fast Track, do you also hear this noise? In other words, if you play something back that you did not record yourself, does it have this noise?
i belive is the TSR cables, guitar cables right?well...i bough cheap cheap ones, the closest from my home to use it ....but now it seems it is it....i will buy some expensive ones and test...
maybe the signal of the cables are enough to send from the input directly to headphone, but when it goes trought USB to computer than back to the interface it loss signal....
must be that, fast track pro new couldnt be so crap, its not computer, its not synth, must be cables....
i will look it...
Re: Nord2x with background noise in Live9 with Fast Track Pr
Don't get very expensive ones, not now. I very much doubt expensive cables of the same type would really improve the quality. If you want to get expensive cables, do that after you're sure they will solve your issue.luizfbw wrote:i belive is the TSR cables, guitar cables right?well...i bough cheap cheap ones, the closest from my home to use it ....but now it seems it is it....i will buy some expensive ones and test...
You mention TRS, so you're using cables with stereo jacks, right? It could be that the Fast Track Pro is unable to see you've connected an instrument with an unbalanced output to it, since TRS jacks are normally used for balanced signals. If you have them, try switching to cables with TR (mono jacks). I have had this issue with synths in the past (on my Fast Track Ultra), but to be honest I haven't seen it with Nords.
The cables from the Nord to the interface, are they running close to some other equipment (or cables) where they might pick up that noise? Also, do you have the Fast Track Pro set up to use the inputs as line, or as instrument inputs? The Nords have line-level outputs, so you'll get the highest quality if you set your inputs to line.
Only the signals that go into the interface's inputs and come out of the outputs are analog, the rest is all digital. Now it is possible that you send a signal into the inputs that is too 'loud' and causes clipping, which can sound pretty nasty. Other than that, there's the drop-outs I mentioned before and those are problems in the transfer of the digital audio data, usually when transferring data from the computer to the audio interface.luizfbw wrote:maybe the signal of the cables are enough to send from the input directly to headphone, but when it goes trought USB to computer than back to the interface it loss signal....
I had quite a lot of problems with my Fast Track Ultra and I'm glad I got rid of it. However, this mostly had to do with the drivers (both Windows and Mac) and M-Audio itself (the company). The quality of the recordings was never an issue, as the hardware itself seemed to be working fine (if the drivers wouldn't crash, etc).luizfbw wrote:must be that, fast track pro new couldnt be so crap, its not computer, its not synth, must be cables....
Anyway, a recording showing the noise would still be helpful.

TSR maybe is wrong, i mean the normal Guitar cables, we call it p10 here....doubt it is stereo....i bought good ones and didnt fixed...You mention TRS, so you're using cables with stereo jacks, right? its kinda of a distortion noise, and loss of quality of the whole sound...i will record it right nowOnly the signals that go into the interface's inputs and come out of the outputs are analog, the rest is all digital. omg, it was the sourcepower my dad gave me, maybe its old and bad, the font driving the force, using it from usb the sound is over!!!!
but for real...after converting to digital it will sound less cool then directly analog right?
