Hello All,
I'm new to the forum. I took a look through the Nord Stage forum and the Nord Stage MIDI Tutorial but I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I have a Nord Stage [1] and I'm trying to use my sequencer (Cubase) as a master for all of my MIDI devices. I am able to get all my other devices working as slaves and keeping up with tempo changes in my DAW. But I can't get the Nord Stage to be a slave device.
I have the Nord linked with a (tested and working) MIDI cable. I've checked that the MIDI cable is correctly connected from my MIDI/Audio Interface's MIDI-out port to the Nord MIDI-in port. I've checked the DAW settings to make sure the MIDI clock is being sent out of all MIDI-outs. I have matched the channel on my DAW to the right one on the Nord. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. What am I forgetting or doing wrong?
Ultimately I want to have the Nord Stage's effect tempo to sync with my DAW. Is this even possible?
Thanks in advance for any help.

So you are trying to sync NS effects with DAW tempo? I am sorry but this is not possible on NS Classic.

Re: MIDI Not Working Using Nord Stage as Slave
Hi,
If I understand your problem correctly, you want to have the Stage follow a master clock or tempo, e.g. from a tempo track in your DAW?
- the Stage 'Classic' and EX models do not have a master clock function, and don't perceive master clock signals - (the Stage2 does..)
You can set the rate of the FXs through CCs, but I wouldn't know how to translate tempo in your DAW to a matching CC value to control the rate of the FXs, but I don't know all the tricks in Cubase
Or perhaps you should consider applying FX with some plugins in your DAW, or use an external FX processor that can follow master clock signals
Cheers,
Albert
