My DIY Music Stand

Post by Pantoufle »

Hey everyone,

New Nord owner here. Just wanted to drop by and show you what I did today and also to saythat NORD IS AWESOME. But you knew that.

I didn't get the music stand for my Nord Piano 2 because it seemed too expensive for me (I am a poor student and the Piano2 was an expensive luxury that I've been saving for for a while). But, playing along, I definitely needed a music stand. So today I went to Home Hardware, bought myself a bunch of materials (total $40) and spend a few hours making my own stand. Here's the story in pictures:

The Materials:

Cutting the boards:

Alignment and gluing the back:

Bending the brass rods:

Gluing the flat bed on the bottom:

Gluing the brass rods and the steel L-brackets for reinforcement:

Getting ready to be a spray paint delinquent:

After 1 coat of spray paint. I won't be taking pictures of a second coat but it should look a little darker and fully cover the stand.

So what do you think? I think it turned out great. And I saved over $60! yay ingenuity!
