Auto-Wah effect on NE373

Post by hand solo »

one of my favorite effects on my NE2 is the auto-wah with clavinet. just got the NE3 and there is a noticeable difference in level between the dry and effected clav. anybody else notice this?

it's like a volume robber.

also, gigged with it for the first time last weekend. was frustrating changing patches live with the two buttons as opposed to
the eight on the NE2. this seems like backward engineering on Nord's part. Dislike!

Hello Hand Solo,

IMHO,
I agree about the volume issue with Auto-Wah, the programmable gain parameter can be used to compensate for this, storing the Clav "without Auto-Wah" as the "A" patch and the Clav "with Auto-Wah" plus added gain for leveling, as the "B' patch, then using the A/B switch instead of turning on/off the Auto-Wah should remedy this situation.

As to the "two buttons as opposed to the eight" issue:
I think the added benefit of two patches per program "A and B" plus a possible third being the live panel memory, mostly makes up for it, but it does require a different mindset, and some patch re-organization.

I was so thrilled with the NE3s Vox, Farfisa organs, better V5 acoustic pianos, and the ability to play user created and Nord library samples, that I completely overlooked these two issues.

Cheers, Hanon.

Hanon,

after gigging a few times i have become accustomed to changing patches better with the subsets . the ever expanding sample library is something i haven't even begun to delve into yet. and i understand some new Vox and Farf signature sounds have been added. I looked at a Stage EX Compact also, but much happier that i got the NE3. holding on to my NE2 though..it's fun to A-B them !
