Great! Moments like this makes me feel proud to be a Swedish engineer ... :D
NE3HP, NP88, NS2, DPP1, NL2X, NL2X, NLA1, NL4, NE5D, NW2 (Collect Them All?), some classic Rolands, Arturias, a Waldorf, a Kurz, a WONOK3, a pile of guitars, a P-bass, loopers, amps and computers ...
I'm a gearslut!

The Nord Lead 4 looks really nice and valuable with its wooden side parts (and not so much as a tin can like my NL2X) ;)
So, optically a truely Nord synth!

But the prize: here (http://www.amazona.de/2013/04/clavia-nord-lead-4) they are talking about 1.849 EUR for the keyboard model. That is compared to the long-term prize of the NL2X of 1099 EUR (in Germany) - a rich extra charge and nearly the current prize of the Nord Wave! :o
Let's see what the shop prizes will be...

The sound demos: for my ears a bit too harsh and "industrial", but perhaps that's to demonstrate the new "variations".

Nevertheless: It's good to see a new Nord synthesizer!

Cheers.

I agree, the demo is very metallic, or industrial as you said...is the page just blank besides the music? I just get a black screen...

I'm really, really disappointed in this Lead. It should have had sample playing functionality, being everything that the Wave should've been in the first place. Also, the omission of EQ is striking. And the persistance of the silly digit screen, which is a sad alternative to a proper LED screen and complicates live performance, is just daft.

Not liking Nord business strategy here.

No, the site is now "in function". You can also go to there over http://clavia.se.

Perhaps you have to clear the cache of your browser resp. re-load the site.

No user waves support? mmm good ...exactly in what is better the new Nord lead 4 if compared to the old Nord lead 3?
- Added effects (but no chorus)? ok.
- Added usb midi? ok.
but... there's no aftertouch, no multimode filters, reduced modulation sources  :silent:

Really, I don't understand what Clavia is doing :wtf:

Greetings Clavia! at 1800 euros seems better to buy a Prophet 08PE, that's a REAL ANALOG

Glad I'm not the only one feeling slightly underwhelmed by the NL4 announcement and it feels a bit like Nord are treading water to get 20 years production of the Lead ahead of a much bigger release in the future.

DSI and Access won't feel threatened by the NL4 and they will probably win more orders this year especially if the Virus TI3 is released and once the Prophet 12 starts shipping. I do hope that Nord are not damaged long-term by not being radical enough. They surely are aware that there are plenty of cheaper boards and iPad apps with more potency than the NL4 and we are in a global recession where 'bang for buck' is more of a consideration for everybody and rivals seem to offer more and often for much less.
