I was playing around with me NR2 the other night and my mind was thinkin about pelle mode but cant remember the "code" to get into it... searched and searched but cant find it anymore... so is there some one out there that can remember what to do
First you have to enter Pelle’s year of birth: 1965. Set Slot A to Program 19 and Slot B to Program 65. Only the numbers will do, so never mind if memory location 19 is holding another Program than the factory preset. Than press and hold the Portamento Auto button, after which you press and hold the Shift button (what else). Holding both press the Velocity/Morph button and release it again. Still holding the two first knobs press the Performance button and you will hear a click, which means the Pelle mode is active.

What is "Pelle mode"?
What is it good for?
On which Nords can it be found?
NE3HP, NP88, NS2, DPP1, NL2X, NL2X, NLA1, NL4, NE5D, NW2 (Collect Them All?), some classic Rolands, Arturias, a Waldorf, a Kurz, a WONOK3, a pile of guitars, a P-bass, loopers, amps and computers ... I'm a gearslut!
Only on the NordLead(1) and the Nordlead2; NOT on the NordLead2X, NordLead3 and NordLead4.
It is an not-documentated mode which produces Physical Modeling and is only developed in an experimental state.
It can't be saved, although it can be send using SysEx. It is a part of the Manual mode.
It has been lost for over 15 years, but was found agian.
The page in which I describe the 'hidden synth' is momentairy not active on the net, but will be restored very soon...
This was originally a post about the Pelle mode working on the NR2X, but it doesn't, as Wout said. If you do this sequence on a Nord Rack 2X, you access the Manual mode.

Hi all,
I'm not 100% sure what caused it actually, but anyhow I thought to signal a small warning.
Yesterday I was fiddling with Pelle's mode and might have exited the mode in an irregular way: you should hit System, I think I just shut down the entire synth. Next day: weird round-ribbon voice effects bouncing between the left and right channel. 3 notes stereo, then everything mono on the right until you reach 16. Tried to restart a few times, checked the output slot routing, program slot routing, unison settings, panic button ... everything (good refresh excercise) - but nope. At some point I feared I had disabled or even blown up a couple of the 16 voices in some ancient way.
Pale-faced entered Pelle's mode again. Fiddled a little, everything clearly mono there, both L and R working fine. Disabled the mode the correct way. And all voices were back in business. Phew.
