Which Fatar action does the Nord Piano have?
Hi,
I have a simple question, and no doubt it's been answered elsewhere, but I couldn't find the information, so I would appreciate some assistance. Can someone tell me which Fatar action does the original Nord Piano have?
I believe I read somewhere that it has the TP40. Is that correct? While I'm at it, can someone tell me how is the reverb routed- at the end of the signal chain or otherwise?
Thanks for your assistance.
Michael

TP100 TP40 is in the NP and Stage models. I have used both, and although very different, equally playable for me. In fact, I might like the slightly lighter feel of the tp100, works really well for rhodes in my opinion.

Since you posted in the Electro forum, I think he thought you were asking which action is in the Electro HP.

There are three versions of the TP40... L, M, and H. I believe Nord uses the M, Kurzweil uses the L. Also, the keybed is available with or without aftertouch, which could change the feel a bit, and it's possible that there may be other ways Nord could tweak them to their taste.

Thanks anotherscott,
Until recently, I had a Studiologic VMK188plus with a TP40 action and aftertouch. The keybed itself was enjoyable to play, but the electronics were a problem. I expect that Nord technology along with a Fatar keybed will be much more reliable.

And just for the sake of clarity... L, M, and H refer to the light, medium, and heavy versions of the action. There is also a graded version, with heavier feeling keys toward the bottom and lighter toward the top. Some more detail is at http://www.fatar.com/pages/TP_40_GH_ES.htm
