New NS2 Owner - Saving Layered Piano/String/Bass Splits

Post by chuckiep »

Hi, What a beautiful instrument this is!! A Newbie hear trying to figure how to save a program consisting of a layer of strings ,piano and bass. Looking for a one-man gig setup of Strings and piano split to upper register with volume control of (strings only) via pedal and with Bass assigned to lower register. Only want expression pedal to control string volume. Please advise if its possible on NS2, and if so how.

Vr,

  • 1. Press the slot A button
    2. Create your split
    3. Activate the piano section into up/hi area (check it only plays in the upper split)
    4. Activate synth in up/hi area
    5. Initialise the synth (hold shift and tap the init synth button to the right on the synth volume control)
    6. Set synth to sample mode and find a string sound
    7. Set synth volume and piano volume to suit (check it only plays in the upper split)
    8. Press slot B
    9. Activate synth section in Lo area
    10. Initialise the synth (like you did in step 5)
    11. Find a bass sound (check it only plays below the split).
    12. Press slots a and b simultaneously.
You now should have bass in the left hand and the layered piano/strings in the right
Balance all your volumes (tap slot a to adjust the piano & strings then tap slot b to adjust the bass volume).

Finally you want to assign your control pedal to the strings volume:
  • 13. Set the control pedal to 'max'
    14. Select slot a
    15. Hold the Ctrl pedal morph button and rotate the synth volume control down to 0
    16. Release the Ctrl pedal morph button
Confirm that the control pedal affects the volume of the strings sound

Happy? Save it!
