Sticky Key?
I have noticed that my C#1 key seems to occasionally 'mis-fire' especially on PIANO patches i.e. does not always sound the note!
Has this been reported elsewhere in the forum?

Re: Sticky Key?
Are you on the latest firmware? Is it a stage classic, EX or Stage 2?
Edit: looking at your profile I've seen it's a Stage 2. Check you are up to firmware 1.70 before doing anything else. I think there was some glitch related to note on/of with an earlier firmware...

Re: Sticky Key?
I have no answer to your question, but you mentioned that is mostly on the piano? What about the organ?
Is the contact to make the organ sound different from the one used for the piano and synth? (i.e. two rubber contacts)
The organ can be set to sound earlier, how is that done?

Re: Sticky Key?
This cannot be OS related (and I certainly have never heard anything about earlier OS glitches relating to this). Dirty contacts on that note. Needs to be opened and cleaned bu someone who knows this operation. BTW, this is Fatar action. Most any keyboard tech can handle that.

Pablo - If you look at the change log, you will see there are fixes for sticky keys in 1.60 and 1.24. It can be OS related - just saying...

Re: Sticky Key?
GuyManning,
I have a similar problem, but almost opposite in terms of what is happening. I believe this is OS software operated(btw i have NS2 v1.70). Here is what is happening to me. My D(octave 3) note always sounds like its stuck. I can use any instrument(e.piano, grand, clav, organ) and they all have this issue. When all effects and sounds are off the issue is there and when I add effects it becomes so intolerable that I basically have to hit the PANIC button because of the ridiculous loud noise it generates. I know this is not mechanical because when I use the octave shift buttons the problem D moves in accordance with the octave shift, thus proving this is surely a software related problem. I am in contact with a Nord specialist[actually I see him here on this forum
and am waiting to hear back on a solution] I know from previous updates there have been many people that have encountered unwanted sonic sounds, and sounds getting stuck, so it seems to be very feasible that many people are still having issues in v 1.70. I hope this gets resolved quickly because its more than annoying.

Re: Sticky Key?
Good idea about testing with the octave shift.

Re: Sticky Key?
@GuyManning: there have been several posts mentioning what might be dirty contacts.
There are probably thousands (?) of keyboards using the Fatar mechanism (not only Nord), so it is difficult to estimate the proportion failing or how long it takes for this to happen, if indeed it happens more often than expected. But maybe this mechanism is more robust than metal contacts? I just do not know.
How often do I expect it to happen to mine?: Never!
edit: typo
