Re: New Samples at the Mothership
For crying out loud! For god sakes!
Enough already with those esoteric instruments samples.
Clavia - please concentrate your efforts on making new and improved rhodes and clav samples

Re: New Samples at the Mothership
I can't believe it! Again such useless stuff instead of new Rhodes and Wurlitzer Samples!

Re: New Samples at the Mothership
I used a philicorda sample in a record......but 6 months ago.......taken from this forum.....

we definitly need new piano samples........new electric piano....and , please , a brand new Lady Grand......
anyway....at least those new samples are not "ANALOG MONSTERS" and so on.......
those samples are great , a bit different from the rest , and , I think , usable....
but....yes.....I agree.......is time for new pianos..... I own a NS2 but I think is time for something new for ALL clavia community...... (not just for NS 2 , NE3 , NE 4)

Re: New Samples at the Mothership
Well, a Philicorda is quite an interesting departure away from stack of synths we've been receiving lately, however it's not quite the same as more authentic EPs/clav.
Still, I maintain that we should all be grateful for these free samples from Clavia.
Cheers,
James

Re: New Samples at the Mothership
Complaints every single time about every gift horse.
Zahush, Daniel, there is no reason to believe that the people doing the sampling for these "unwanted" instruments (or the company that Nord has purchased them from) would have spent their time woking on EPs if only they had been asked to. The existence of these samples may very well have had no effect on when or whether there will be more EP samples, which could easily involve completely different people or companies.
And let's say, for the sake of argument, that new EPs are coming in Summer 2013. What's better, if other things are released in the mean time, or if nothing is released in the mean time? You're essentially arguing for the latter, and I don't see where that serves anyone.
No one supports new functionality for their old gear better than Nord, but you should never buy something based on what it may do in the future, it needs to do what you need when you buy it. If you must have EP sounds that Nord doesn't currently provide, then you bought the wrong board, as there is no guarantee that it will ever have the sound you want. Heck, they could come out with three new EP sounds next month, and it could still turn out that it doesn't have THE ep sound you're looking for! So for your own happiness, my suggestion would be that you find some sound module or second keyboard or VST that has the EP sound you want, connect it up, and enjoy making music.
And maybe take a listen to the other Nord samples that have been coming out, as you may find a new sound that surprisingly inspires you in some unexpected way. You know, there are plenty of sources for good EP sounds. Some of the unusual Nord samples add new sounds to our palettes that most of us have never had before and are not readily available elsewhere. There's something to be said for that, too.

OMG! I love the new synth sample examples!
I love the off-the-beaten path stuff. Helps inspire new ideas and set yourself apart from the crowd.
Thank you Clavia!

Re: New Samples at the Mothership
I really dig these new sounds. Especially for my 60s garage rock band. Really cool Farfisa Polychrome - fun stuff!
