Adding sounds to Nord Rack 3?
Hey, i was wondering if it's possible to add sound bank to the NR3?
And if it works, how do i do it?

Re: Adding sounds to Nord Rack 3?
You can either use the Sound Manager (a special version, see this page: http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.asp?t ... &osdwn=osw) or upload them via MIDI; SysEx (System Exclusive) or SMF (Simple MIDI File, your general MIDI files).
You can make a backup of the current patches (programs) either by dumping (and recording) a MIDI dump which can be triggered from the NR3's front panel or you can use the Sound Manager.

Re: Adding sounds to Nord Rack 3?
Thanks, i tried using the SysEx to restore to factory presets, but i get this message:
"Snd dump ignored
Enable rcv mode"
My NR3 is set to send&recieve.

Hmm, it sounds to me like you have the right settings (snd&rcv) and you're sending it on the right MIDI channel (since the NR3 did see it).
Hopefully someone else knows what might be causing this. You can also try contacting Clavia directly via the contact form on their website.

Thanks, i googled and found this:
"snd dump ignored enable rcv mode" - this problem had to do with me trying to load performance 1 into bank 1.
I didn't quite understand what he meant by that.

Re: Adding sounds to Nord Rack 3?
A performance is a collection of four programs; the performance actually stores the programs, it does not just refer to a program by its bank number (1..8) and position within that bank (1..128). So if you delete a program that was also used in a performance, that performance will still work fine. You can have two banks of 128 performances and you have 8 banks of 128 programs.Jibbesander wrote:No, i was wondering what he meant by:

I think the guy choose 'Program Receive' (page 126) and then sent performance data instead of the program data the Lead 3 was expecting.
Have you tried dumping a program bank (page 127) to MIDI-OX (Windows) or SysEx Librarian (OS X) and then sending it back to the NR3 while you have it in 'Program Receive' mode?
Also, I assume 'Memory Protect' is turned off (page 129)?

Re: Adding sounds to Nord Rack 3?
Ok, I have this problem once before.
I know that this message turns up when tryng to import a program to performance or vice versa but...
It also turns up, when importing a bank and not has erased the earlier bank.
press the midi menu button , scroll down to "program recieve Bank: 1 > Erase.
Now press ">" (the right cursor button) to erase the bank, confirm with ">" again
The display now raises up to 100% , this takes a second or two.
The following message appears, "Waiting for dump"
Now again, Use nord manager, open the bank you want to copy, and choose download in menu, choose if its a programbank
or a performance bank you want to download to the synth.
pretty much it !
