In Version 1.60, Midi Volume is not acknowledged on single channels (like Piano A, Organ B). If Slot Midi is Activated, Midi Volume sent on corresponding channels influences the other slot, too.

Bug?? It guess so!

Hope this will be fixed in 1.6.2, just uploading it. But this problem is not mentioned in the version history!

No, problem is NOT fixed in 1.62. Still no Midi Volume accepted on single channels, unbelievable!!

Actually, with the organ enabled on both Slots you can make either A or B the top or bottom -- but (for some odd reason) you can only enable percussion on Slot B.

Hi everybody,
since v.1.6x the midi volume CC 7 is not accepted any more by the NS2. (There is a seperate thread). So good bye to volume control via midi controller which worked until v.1.40.

A support request from me to clavia has not even been answered so far. Shame on them.

Johannes: Could you please add this to the known bug list to avoid that others fall in the same trap by updating from v.1.40 to v.1.64. There is no way back without loosing all programs (unless you've got an old backup).

Just tried it and indeed. In the manual it says it should work "if Swell Type is set to Volume in System Menu". But in fact it doesn't.

I was surprised anyhow they introduced it in the NS2 in the first place (I programmed my stuff using multiple messages controlling all instruments volume at the same time, but one cc# would have been easier). But what happens if you use both types of Midi Messages?? Anyhow, will put it on the list.

Hi again
I use the volume for the individual instruments as well, but that does not allow to keep the balance between the instruments if you set them at different levels. Eg. Piano 100% and Strings 50% + Global Volume 50% --> Piano 50% and Strings 25%. You can't do that with a simple Midi controller by controlling the individual volumes. :-(

Hi all,

I have detected a strange behaviour today, that seems related to the initialization of the Synth section when loading a new Program; I was using the NS2 preset A14:5 "Two Pole Line" and hit the Program button "5" again by accident and... the sound changed!

So I tried to push it again and--- the sound changed again but was different from the previous 2!

I have recorded this problem (i play just 2 notes and re-click the "5" Program button from time to time, hear the timbre changes ..)
Can someone else try the same on his/her NS2? :(

Yes, I can confirm this. I guess the patch somehow depends on the phase of the oscillator(s) and each time you recall the patch it gets set/initialised to a different value. Note that the same effect takes place when you change the oscillator dial to the next and back to the original setting (going from dtn to Snc).

Thanks Mr G.
So this is actually a bug or at least I consider it a bug, because you cannot predict which sound you will get when you select a patch that shows that behaviour, so you may or may not get the sound you want or expect (i.e, the one you have programmed!)

@admins: does Nord read this forum (and this thread) or should I submit this to Nord support directly?

Problem with transpose and extern section.

Connect the nord stage 2 (OS 1.64, Rev B) with an other keyboard, transpose them both -1, and play the other keyboard with the keyboard of the nord via midi.

This does´nt work with the external section - sounds awful! - try it! :o

NORD Developers, please try this and implement a switch, witch will switch of the transpose via midi when using the external section! - PLEASE!

:thanks: FM
