Hey nord nerds!
an old topic, but I wanted to share my solution.

I've created a pitch bend box that also has a midi interface built in, more specifically midi in (from electro 5d) merges with the pitch bend data and goes out midi out (back in to the Nord)
that eliminates the need for a separate midi interface box, (just straight in and out of the nord) and I've even powered it off the nord's usb port!
pretty happy with it. I made it nice and wide so it would be stable, but also in case I want to add anything else. I'm thinking of a stop/slow/fast switch for the rotary speaker like the ridiculously overpriced "half-moon" attachments, and maybe a switch to quickly change the upper/lower mix to change sounds on the fly. I have one with a mod wheel for mix, but thought an A/B switch might be better.

I still have alot of extra components (you cant buy just one resistor!) so I'm curious if there are still lots of people looking for that solution (instead of upgrading to the 7!). maybe I'd make a batch and put them on etsy!

cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt, that looks interesting. May I ask which microcontroller you used?

I started a similar project just a few weeks ago, but I haven't followed it since I don't really need pitch bending. But my interest has been rekindled.

Cheers

Hi,
I made one with an arduino uno i had lying around and a premade midi shield. I didn't love that because the shield sits back from the end of the arduino making it tough to mount nicely.
So my next step was arduino nano and a seperate "daughter board" with 1/8" trs midi. It helps with the form factor, but maybe I'll do one that splits the difference, with a seperate daughterboard and full sized midi jacks.
There's another thread about this with alot more chat that I think I'll move to.

That's the one I was following a while back and went to this one instead.
