Stage 4 Compact (73) cases
Stage 4 Compact (73) cases
Hi,
Which case is suitable for the Stage 4 Compact (73 keys)?
Case without wheels (e.g. NORD SOFT CASE 73/61/LEAD/WAVE 2)?
Case with wheels (e.g. NORD SOFT CASE 73/76/88/GRAND)?
Thanks!

Re: Stage 4 Compact (73) cases
The Nord Website doesn't give any hints, but the retailers do. So, the model with backstraps (without wheels, inside 1130 x 330 x 110 mm) fits for the Compact, the one with wheels (inside 1090 x 340 x 120 mm) does as well. Consider the front pocket being quite different (I don't put any pedal inside but others do).
I only know the one with backstraps (tried it a few years ago), and what I didn't like was the zip not being padded - but you may want to try it anyway (I don't know of a better model still being available).

Re: Stage 4 Compact (73) cases
I prefer carrying the NS4 73 on my back - although it is heavy. After some research, I bought the Nord Electro HP bag. My NS 4 fits perfectly in it. The bag is well padded on the inside and it has a large front pocket, to bring your pedals with you.
I have been using it for 9 months now without any problems.

Re: Stage 4 Compact (73) cases
@Dijkhuizen are we talking 'NS4 Compact' or 'NS4 73' here? They are two different models, with different dimensions (the NS4 73 is wider and thicker than the Compact).
I got my Compact earlier this year, but I don't like the tiny front pocket on the Compact case. The Electro HP bag front pocket is much larger, so that would be a big plus, but the last thing I want is for my keys to move around inside the bag.

Re: Stage 4 Compact (73) cases
I have a Nord Stage 3 Compact and have been using the Nord Soft Case HP for about six months now.
Like mentioned here already the HP case is officially listed for the Nord Electro HP. A local dealer mentioned that other customers have chosen the HP case for the Stage Compact models because of the larger front pocket. Many had told him that the fit has been good. That has been my experience as well.
For me the reason I went with the HP version rather than the standard soft case was also the larger front pocket. It fits my pedals (sustain and expression), cables and DI box comfortably, which I can really appreciate. I was initially going to get the one with the smaller pocket. I am glad my local dealer changed my mind
I also really like the shoulder straps.
I have used the large Nord soft case with wheels for my Stage 2 HA88 and now for Nord Piano 5 for over ten years. That has also held up quite well except for the wheels. The wheels have seen better days. A small rock got jammed in one of them and I dragged the case a few meters before noticing. This wore the wheel down on one side. It’s no longer round, so pulling it is slightly annoying now. It still works, but I only use the wheels indoors these days.

Re: Stage 4 Compact (73) cases
Hi
I got a Stage 4 compact and i'm using the Korg SV1 73 bag. The compact fits perfectly and i made custom moss pads to cover the top of the boards in case of shocks as it's not a hard case. The edges and bottom of the case are much harder than the top. It got 2 big pockets, one at the front and one at the bottom, i always put my clothes in the bottom pockets and my pedals, RC505 and microphone on the top pocket.
I covered the 'KORG' name with tape so it doesn't attract the attention too much and is just a black case .
It's quite cheap : 180 euros for me in France
It's been 2 years since i'm using it to travel every months by train to meet my music friends. Havent any problem so far. I wouldn't use it to travel by plane though.

Re: Stage 4 Compact (73) cases
I've got a NS4 compact. I ordered the NordGBHP Nord Electro HP Bag. It works perfectly. It has a much larger pocket than the other ones I looked at. Has the backpack straps as well. No complaints.
