Midi Volume does not work
Hello,
I am new to this Forum. Just bought a Stage 2 and have a serious problem with it. It will not Accept Midi volume on the single Channels. I.e., if I set Piano B Channel to 14 and play notes on it, everything is fine. If I send Midi Volume on the same channel, nothing happens. Control Send / Rcv is activated!!
I tried with external keyboards and sequencer, nothing works. only if I activate Slot B Midi and set it to 14, as well, Midi Volume does matter - but then, strangely, it also influences Slot A, even if it is set to a different Channel.
am I doing something wrong or is this a bug??
Thanks for helping
Peter, Germany

Re: Midi Volume does not work
Hello Hanon,
thanks for the hint. I will try that tomorrow, when I´m near the instrument. The problem is, though: I would like to switch Programs (that means, complete Programs with Slot A and B, like A:1 to D:3) from an external Keyboard. And I fear that won´t work with Global Mode turned off. Right?

Re: Midi Volume does not work
Just to confirm the situation. I've got the same issue after update to v1.64 while everything was fine with v1.40. Volume control via midi is not accepted any more.
No changes on Midi settings or System settings were done so far.
Did anybody try to go back on v1.40 or does this mess the programs? (Would it work at all?)

Re: Midi Volume does not work
I tried several things (because I was convinced it worked), but it doesn't. Not for me anyway.
The manual says that if the swell type is set to volume, MIDI CC 7 controls volume (global, not slot volume). I've tried a lot of things, like using the extern section to control volume or using an external sequencer like Ableton, but nothing worked. I'm 95% sure I did the right things. I tried disconnecting the pedals (and restarting) and I updated to 1.64 (I had 1.60) - no luck. I wasn't able to find 1.40 anymore - I still had the link in my browser history, but it seems Clavia removed the original file.
I also can't get the master volume to send MIDI CC 7 messages. To me this says that (right now) master volume is not MIDI controllable.
As a work-around you could send MIDI messages controlling the volumes for the separate sections/parts. For example, CC 112 controls the volume for the synth section of part A.
Hopefully someone can point out what I'm doing wrong. If not, I'll send in a bug report in a few days.

Re: Midi Volume does not work
Hi mjbrands
Midi CC 7 did work until v.1.40 and was broken with v.1.6x. I even still have v.1.40 and enclose it as attachment.
I fear just that after the update to v.1.64 that I mess my programs if I downgrade again to v.1.40 (I didn't backup before updating.
)
At this time I still fight with myself which I value more the programs or the volume as both is a bit of work.

Re: Midi Volume does not work
Hi,
an adder to the previous posts. If going back to v.1.40 after upgrading to the new program storage scheme introduced with v.1.6x will make the programs useless. -> Once updated, then your stuck.
The good thing. Reloading v.1.64 will at least work again with the known limitations.

Re: Midi Volume does not work
Thanks for figuring this out, this is a bit of a bind we're in; I really hope Clavia will reintroduce the MIDI volume, especially since the manual states it should work.

Re: Midi Volume does not work
Please complain to Clavia, I need this feature !!!
Maybe if we all did, they will fix it in the next update !
Thanks
