Re: Nord Plugin?
I agree with you guys that this won’t probably happen from several reasons. And I am fine with that but it won’t stop me dreaming about unlikely developments. Once again this proves me that this forum is full of concervativists who just cannot think out of the box - there’s just one ”right” way to use Nords and this company should not expand its perspective. Nord is mainly for gigging and giving decent sounds, every other line - making it better as studio tool for example is waste of time.

Re: Nord Plugin?
Thinking outside the box is always good and sometimes really inspiring. However, I would describe some of the responses as "realism" rather than "conservatism", considering that Nord, as a small company, needs to develop new/additional products while also continuing to develop new generations of its existing products. I don't want to have to listen to all the loud complaints if Nord were to take even longer to develop new generations of existing instrument families as a result of such new developments.

Major corporations like IBM or Apple, with hundreds of thousands of employees, take months, sometimes years, of discussions, calculations, prognosis, and projected ROI before they add headcount of even two people to a department.
The company Clavia comprises about forty people, TOTAL, as far as I know. What percentage of their entire workforce should they devote to an extremely complex, permanent (as in, they can never stop developing it) software project that probably won't make them any money?

Re: Nord Plugin?
What am I missing? What I was saying was that I love their sounds (software) and wish I didn’t have to pay $4K to get them “natively” - meaning, the proposed idea of having a Nord plugin available in a DAW - that could be triggered from whatever hardware I want - would be cool. As would a “box” with the Nord pianos inside which could be played by any MIDI keyboard.analogika wrote: 23 Dec 2025, 01:00Read that again, slowly. Could you clue me in on the joke? I feel stupid that it was funny and even stupider that I don’t get it

You like the sounds well enough to pay $4000 for them.SteveNordP3 wrote: 25 Dec 2025, 04:17What am I missing? This does not sound like a "problem" that needs to be "solved", at least for Clavia.

Ah - well light dawns on Marblehead….
To be honest, I didn’t see it as a problem to be solved but an opportunity to capitalize on.

Re: Nord Plugin?
one of the best kept secrets in the Modular Software world was the FREE SOFTWARE DEMO Version of the G2 Modular that was available years ago...no idea if its still on the website for download but it was a great value.
Ran almost 100% like the the hardware instrument but would only produce 1 note at a time - so essentially a MONO Modular Soft Synth.
Nord is not in the software business...plenty of manufacturers are...I wish Nord would concentrate on finishing the OS upgrades on NS4 and finally get the Oscillator Modulation Buttons and Knobs working for the digital waves - like it worked on the NS3 - but here we are - two years after market release and still no worky.
This is likely my last NS at the snails pace of getting to 1.x when we should be out of beta bug and into 2.xx by this date.
MPE and soft synths is probably the future for me and that might not be on the roadmap for Clavia.
I am starting to think they lost some smart people who understood their own designs...

Re: Nord Plugin?
Exactly my view too, unfortunately. I waited 2,5 years to get NS4 working like NS3 and nothing happened. Sold it and haven't regretted. Still have NS3 which IMO was last NS which really developed and was better than its predecessor. Nord can't handle anymore the complexity they have created.Mr. Marko wrote: 31 Dec 2025, 06:43 I am starting to think they lost some smart people who understood their own designs...

If really a Nord Stage 5 is on its way, you may aim at getting one in autumn - if other people have explored the issues it may have.
