NS2 Synth Sections

Post by Oliver »

Hey everybody,

I have a question regarding the synth section. I checked the NS product page but couldn't find what I was looking for:
Does the snyth section have presets, if so, how many? Is there a list somewhere?
Plus (please forgive me if this is a stupid newbie question):
If I add a sample from clavia's website, does that count as a preset? Do the samples from the library have to be edited before I can start playing?
Thanx so much,

Oliver

Hi Oliver.
The synth section should have presets from factory, but I'm not sure how many(my guess would be 100-300). There are no lists yet AFAIK sorry.
The samples functions more as a waveform (that can be altered in different ways), and not a preset. They can be downloaded to the keyboard directly and be played. No editing is needed.

Say if you have more questions :)

Have fun.

Thanx Cbas,
I checked the NS2 manual and it seems that the synth section will feature 300 presets, plenty of stuff to play around with and get excited about. I think the synth sections gets too little attention, it be wonderful if the Nord people could upload demos and video tutorials on how to create and tweak the synth sounds we envision and need on stage, especially for people like me who know their way around organs and pianos, but next to nothing on how to create or recreate classic synth sounds... that would be more valuable for me than layering a synth and a piano, for instance.
best,

Oliver

thx sten,
I am beginning to see the light... so that means that I can simply add samples or patches from the nord library to the free slots 116-999 until the the memory is full, sounds really simple. Did I get it right?
best O.
would you care to comment on the quality of the synth or sample presets?

I have just got my NS2 ( 6 days ago ), so I will not comment the quality, ( and as former EX owner, I'm new to the sample part..)

There are in total 306Mb sample memory for the synth/sample part, where initialy 77,6Mb free. Rest is used for fabric presets. Fabric presets can all be replaced as well ( so you have 306Mb available for "your choise of samples"). - And in addition ( to the 306Mb) you have 500Mb "reserved" for piano, grand, elpiano, wurli, haspi a.s.o

( But I'm not good on this, other people in this forum, can explain more and bether :-)
