Hi folks
I own a Nord Stage 4 Compact.
I don't know if things are related each other, but this is what I did:
- I create a layer of synth pad / choir / organ and recorded with Nord Sample Editor
- I uploaded back in Nord Stage as unique sample, in order to be selected in a program using only 1 synth section instead of 2/3.
From that moment, some random sample in the synth section started having volume close to 0 (before they were perfectly ok), and also setting master level at max, the sound is still very low.
I tried to switch off/on, to remove the sample I created, to check settings (they are ok), but anything changed.
Did anyone experience the same issue?
Thank you for any help!!
Nord Stage 4: Some synth sample have no volume!!!
Re: Nord Stage 4: Some synth sample have no volume!!!
I've found something strange...into "Output" section, if synth are sent to 12, some sample have very low sounds (e.g. sine/saw/square/... waves in analog mode), whilst the majority is fine. If I set Synth output to 1, every sound volume is fine.
Why that?
Shouldn't be 12 for all?

Could be a stereo cancellation happening outside of NS4. Are you using headphones or going to a mixer/soundcard/other...?

Many of us here have experienced the problem of a mis-wired headphone adapter or cable (one channel out of phase with the other) and -- as a result -- you end only hearing the unique stereo parts of the signal as the common portion is cancelled out. It's a freaky situation the first time it happens, then you learn to recognize it quickly.maxpiano wrote: 05 Oct 2025, 03:44 Could be a stereo cancellation happening outside of NS4. Try listening through a different path?
I think I have gear issues ....

Re: Nord Stage 4: Some synth sample have no volume!!!
As noted, it sounds like a phase cancelation problem. To test it, bring up a sine/saw/square wave and then select MOD1 A-Pan that will pan the sound in stereo. If outputs 1 and 2 are out of phase, the change should result in the synth level increasing dramatically. Let us know how it turns out. Cheers!Simo283 wrote: 05 Oct 2025, 01:21 I've found something strange...into "Output" section, if synth are sent to 12, some sample have very low sounds (e.g. sine/saw/square/... waves in analog mode), whilst the majority is fine.
