Nord Organs

Post by Ruud2312 »

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade to a Nord Stage 4, currently using a Nord Stage 2 EX (Compact). I've encountered several Stage 3's, programming them for other keyboardists. I'm having trouble setting up the organ, they don't sound as 'gritty' or 'dirty' as i would like, the stage 2 does sound like I want too.

Is there an explanation for this phenomenon?

Kind regards, Ruud

Most likely new versions of the leslie sim preamp and FX drive. They behave differently on the NS2, NS3 and NS4. I usually can get the tone I want, but it's different settings and interactions between the two. I can do plenty of dirty organ on the NS4 -- not quite sure how much grit and dirt you're looking for?
I think I have gear issues ....

As cphollis said, check in particular the Rotary setting in the Sound menu, you may prefer the 122 Close (which is not the default) then use the right amount of Rotary Drive and AmpSim/EQ can also help
