I have a question about Nord Piano 5 and connecting a second, external keyboard to MIDI.
I have a Nord Piano 5 73 on which I split the keyboard in half and in each part I have a different sound.
I would also like to connect an external foot keyboard via midi, and use it to have a third independent sound, for example bass.
The foot keyboard has the ability to change the midi channel, but is it possible to use 3 independent sounds with the nord piano 5? 2 different sounds on the split nord keyboard, and the third on the foot keyboard via midi?
The Piano 5 is not a Stage 4, it's just an extended piano. It has 4 layers or sound engines, but only 2 zones. When playing from an external keyboard, you even don't have the opportunity to address only one of those zones - there is only a global MIDI channel. So for multiple reasons no chance to get a third independent sound.
One workaround: Piano 5 has two sample synth engines. You can create your own samples with Nord Sample Editor (NSE). No problem to assign a different sound to each note; so, in theory, you can create a sample that has two zones on its own. But no chance to control volume or effects independently.
