Amps or speakers for home use?

Post by Laserman1 »

I have a nord stage but getting ready to upgrade. I have it running thru a JBL mk3 speaker on 1 side of me and a Kustom 50 on the other side. Don’t judge,it’s what I have right now. The sound is not that great. What is affordable that I can maximize the sounds comming from my nord for home use. Amp or monitors? Thanks in advance.

If you don't have a nice pair of headphones, I would suggest starting there. They don't have to be overly expensive.

I have Sony MDR 7506 and it sounds good but I have to have external sound as I practice with mp3 songs for church out of a speaker.

I'm not sure which JBL speaker you have, but assuming it's a decent one, probably the best thing to do is buy another one of those. If nothing else, it's a cost-effective solution because (assuming you want stereo) you only have to buy one speaker instead of two.

Get a small mixer. Put the stage and your MP player into it and use your headphones.

Just remember to pan each stereo pair of inputs L/R if your using 2 separate channel inputs rather than a stereo input

Any of these mixers would work (lots of other choices as well, but these are all under $200 and some under $100)
