Yamaha C7 Grand – Close XL v2.1 Sample

Hi all,

I'm urgently looking for an older Nord Piano Library file:

״Yamaha C7 Grand – Close XL v2.1 (.npno)״

It came preloaded on some Nord Stage 1 units.
It's no longer available on Nord’s website, and I need it for my Nord Stage 4.
The newer versions don’t come close in tone for my needs.

If anyone still has this file or a backup with it included — I’d be super grateful if you can share it.

If it was in the backup, why don't you download it from Nord website https://www.nordkeyboards.com/legacy-pr ... downloads/, rename backup file as .zip and unzip it? Or does that backup already contain the latest version?

If I remember correctly, this specific sample didn’t come preloaded on my Nord — I actually downloaded it manually a few years ago from the Nord Piano Library.

Unfortunately, it’s no longer available on the Nord website (not even in the legacy downloads section), and that’s why I’m trying to retrieve it from a backup.

OK, yes in fact I checked it too and the NS Classic backup available on Nord website already contains that sample in v5.3 format, if so you need to wait for some NS Classic owner who still has the original CD with samples (or saved them) to pass by this post.

I've actually been trying to track down this specific sample for quite a while — pretty sure it's the exact one I had back in the day.
Really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. Hopefully I can finally get it back on my Stage 4 — it’s a key part of my setup.

I don’t believe that Stage 4 supports npno samples older than v5… I’m curious… have you already tried loading it?

This has me very curious - any idea how this Close XL C7 compares to the Studio Grand 1 or 2 (even the 2 XL that was recently added)? Those are supposed to be C7's, but I see that this is listed separately from them on the Wayback Machine page above.
