If 'mobile' and 'battery driven' is a point, the EV Everse 8 may be fine for you. RustyMike uses them: viewtopic.php?p=168441#p168441

I can certainly attest to the Everse8 being a quality speaker. Larger woofer and more robust sound than the Bose, albeit at a higher price. It's been very reliable. They are very light to carry.

I use a single speaker in a big band, which has been plenty of quality volume. Recently the single speaker has been used for both me and our vocalist. Through the app, I configured and saved a setting that puts her microphone in Channel 1 and piano in Channel 2.

I have a second Everse in case I need more sound. So far it hasn't been needed. Nothing but good things to say about it, and I would pick it again over the Bose S1 any day.

Battery and Bluetooth would be handy but not essential, most important is
-lightweight as I might have to take public transport sometimes
-Good sound for small duo gigs with a singer or solo in a bar/restaurant and Maybe a quartet gig in a small venue jam rehearsals

a single speaker/amp I could use to bring to rehearsal - jazz and funk combos. It needs to be portable to take on tube for rehearsals

not too important but could be handy

again not essential but I could imagine if you are doing small gig you could play some music from a phone/iPad when taking a break or setting up
Sonic accuracy important?

Volume important?
enough for playing a small venue eg upto 50 people in a restaurant if playing background music.

"Take on the tube for rehearsals"? That's a big limitation right there, it's not just the weight, it's the bulkiness along with your keyboard and other bits you'll need. Battery-powered units tend to be heavier, so there's that.

You'll need some decent power to cover 50 folks in a restaurant, even if your group playing background music. My choice for these types of gigs are the pole-type units which can cover the venue nicely in mono.

I'd take a look at the Turbosound iNSPIRE iP500 ($669 USD). It breaks down into two easy-to-carry pieces, three inputs with a mixer, plus enough juice that you and your group will be heard, albeit not at concert levels. It sounds pretty good for what it is.
