Hello out there,
Just wanted to inspire you to be "different" and pimp your Nord Stage 4 according to your taste.
I did so by
replacing the original red side panels by custom-made black ones. I just took the measurements, went to an "Obi" (=more or less Home Depot here in Germany) to get a wooden board with 10mm thickness, cut it according to the taken measurements, painted it black and installed it into my NS4 Compact
put on some flame stickers. I got them from Temu (in total : 7 Dollars - I usually am against that Temu-cheap-stuff but I liked them so I made an exception for myself... At the end I was missing out another set, should have ordered more.
I had already overtaped the Nord Stage 4 Logo with black tape before, at some point I started to hide the branding of my stuff (cameras, keyboards)
Feel free to get inspired.

That is so cool --- I'm not a big fan of the all red keyboard and I put black gaff on the back of my S4 shortly after I got it -- I plan to go with flames or something crazy for the back and sides.
quick question regarding opening the case in order to remove the Side Blocks once their Torx screws are removed.
There are 9 screws along the top edge of my S4 73 and I figure those all need to be taken out.
Are there any screws on the bottom of the case that also need to come out in order to roll the top back and get access to the internal fasteners holding the side blocks?
I've looked around for some instructions and videos and have come up a bit short for the S4. Thanks for any help or insight on this.
The procedure of opening the NS4 is quite straightforward and is a matter of 5 minutes max: First, you need to remove the 3 screws on the side of each panel. Be aware that the side panels cannot be removed yet, they are still held by two screws from the inside of the top panel that can only be removed after lifting the latter up. Then, you need to remove one additional screw on the bottom (central position!) of thevNS4. This screw holds a metal bar which is connected to the top panel, I suppose it stabilizes the top panel. Otherwise the top panel will not move a millimeter! Now, you can lift up the Side Panels together with the top panel, just careful as half way up you need to disconnect a connector between the instrument and the top panel. You'll see it immediately, the electronic structure once open is very clear and straightforward -> you will see it is obvious. That's almost it - now you can easily unscrew the two remaining screws and the side panels come off. Installing is easy, just in reverse.
The black button that you see is a Flic-2 bluetooth button. With this, I control my phone (or tablet) with BandHelper installed which is connected to the NS4 via USB-cable. When I press the button, the Bandhelper App selects the next song in the playlist. Double-press goes one song back. The whole thing is customizable and is a tremendous help for live performing (not having the Song Mode that the NS3 had, which - by the way - I hadn't used anyway due to the capabilities of the BandHelper app).
