Nord Stage 3 Low Gain??

Post by LukeJ_64 »

Hi everyone, I’ve been taking my Stage 3 to my church to play for over a year now and every time I play, the sound guys have to bump up the gain quite a lot compared to when using the Roland RD-800 that the church owns. Is this something you guys have come across before? Could it be due to it going through a DI (which we don’t use with the Roland), or is it to do with the keyboard itself? If so, is there some setting built in that would change this? It’s really not an issue, was just curious whether anybody has any insight. Thanks :)

You don't tell what DI box you use.

Initially, (passive) DI boxes settle down a line or guitar signal to something a mic input on a mixer can handle. Often only -10 dB. Rarely, line isolators are called DI boxes as well - those don't reduce volume. And active DI boxes may also amplify a signal. So the situation isn't clear from this side.

Apparently, Nord signals aren't thaaaat hot. So, there may be another reason for part of your issue - but this shouldn't be that much.
