Nord Electro 6 Power Issue
Nord Electro 6 Power Issue
Hello, first time posting on the forum. I was servicing my Nord Electro 6 and when I was putting it back together I believe I damaged the ribbon cable that connects to the top circuit board! I can't find the name of this part and was wondering if anyone has run into a similar issue, all the lights turn on when I touch/move the ribbon cable into place. Should I order/repair it myself or take it somewhere?
Re: Nord Electro 6 Power Issue
Sorry for the double post! I think the ribbon connector may have been damaged, and can't find much regarding all of the lights being on, any help or suggestions is much appreciated!

Hi and welcome to the Forum.
Yes, I think you damaged the connector. In the image below, the circled pins should not be visible, and the black body of the connector should be flush with the circuit board.
I suspect that you did not release the latches (indicated by arrows) and pulled on the cable enough to pull the connector apart from its pins soldered into the circuit board. Please confirm.
If this is the case, the connector needs to be replaced and I strongly recommend taking this in for repair.
Good luck with the repair and please let us know how it goes. --This forum is about users helping users and we all learn from each other's mistakes. It certainly doesn't help that Nord's service manuals remain unavailable.
Re: Nord Electro 6 Power Issue
Hey very late response lol. But yes the pins were bent/not aligned properly to send power into the board. When I was taking it apart (specifically the top) it got caught on the side while I was lifting and bent them. Luckily my grandpa and I were able to source this problem and he was able to fix/bend the pins so that power would be properly sent and it would rest properly. He has experience with mechanics so that ultimately saved the day. Thanks for your response I appreciate it!
