Wait, just to clarify: you are running one cable from the output 1 directly to the left speaker, and one cable from the output 2 directly to the right speaker?

No other adapters, cables, amps, mixers, or boxes of any sort involved?

Yes! From nords L and R to the KRKs balanced 1/4. (Using TS unbalanced cables.)

Off topic, better to buy TRS cables as they support both balanced and unbalanced outputs? That way long term if you need balanced, you have them...

No need. Balanced lines are almost always XLR connectors. The quality TS cables are fine for short-distance runs, use XLR and a DI if you're going longer.
I think I have gear issues ....

The four assignable outputs on the NS4C are unbalanced, hence 1/4" TS. TRS cables will work, but will provide zero additional value.

If all you need is a short connection to an amp, this is fine. If you have longer runs or need to connect to a pro mixer, you'll need a DI to convert to XLR cables, preferably stereo.

A good DI had been part of my gig bag for decades. I prefer the JDI, but many less expensive products do just fine.

Many thanks! I have 2 Bose S1 Pro I use for speakers, should sound better than their speakers, will see, they sit next to the NS4 so no issues. Do you mind providing a model number? Wasn't sure if jdi is all i need...

I have the Radial Stereo JDI for basic stereo DI duties. I also use a Radial Key Largo in my rehearsal rig and Radial KL-8 in my live rig. Both provide the exceptional Radial DI quality built in, along with mixer capabilities etc.
Nords: NE2, NS2 88, NS3 Compact x 2
Live rig: NS3, Vent, Radial KL-8, Shure PSM-900 IEM Rig, UE18 & UE7 IEMs.
Studio: Hammond A-101 & Leslie 122, Yamaha CP-80, Yamaha S90, NS2, DSI Prophet-6, Vent II, Roland JX-8P.

The Bose S1 Pro has combo inputs, so no DI is needed. You might have an issue with the -4dB levels from the Nord, easily addressed with a small mixer.
