Re: Sound Manager with conversion of programs
Seems they finally did it! Probably because the NS4 and NS3 Synths have enough in common to allow it (which is the most difficult part for a conversion, Organ Piano and FX are basically the same or extended in NS4, but not radically different).

Re: Sound Manager with conversion of programs
Surprising, as they never did it before when the instruments had the same hardware architecture. NS3 to NS4 is not only a different model, but a new architecture completely. I wonder if the new hardware layout was designed to be able to do this going forward?

Re: Sound Manager with conversion of programs
This is quite interesting. NSM converts "programs" from NS3 to NS4. Thought the two SYNTH engines were completely different (as it was between Stage 2 and 3 for i.e.).
Can someone here refresh our memory of the Synth : Stage 2 being a A1 light, Stage 3 being a Wave light, Stage 4 being a Wave2 light ?

Re: Sound Manager with conversion of programs
The Stage 2 had a proprietary synth. The idea for that gave birth to the A1 which subsequently was used in the Stage 3. The Stage 4 synth is based on the Wave 2.cookie wrote: ↑13 Mar 2025, 18:50 This is quite interesting. NSM converts "programs" from NS3 to NS4. Re: Sound Manager with conversion of programs
Not exactly: Synth on Stage 2 is based on Wave "light", on NS3 is based on A1 "light" + samples support (not present in original A1) and on Stage 4 is based on Wave 2cookie wrote: ↑13 Mar 2025, 18:50 This is quite interesting. Re: Sound Manager with conversion of programs
Oh heck yeah, this is awesome news! I was just going through some of the NS3 synth presets in the NS3 Program Viewer yesterday to see if I could recreate them on my incoming NS4, as there were a few pads that I really liked. Way to go Nord!

Re: Sound Manager with conversion of programs
It’s likely that this move is to encourage NS3 owners to upgrade to NS4. They can still use their existing NS3 patches on the new NS4 through the new conversion software tool: Nord Sound Manager v9.10.

Re: Sound Manager with conversion of programs
Yes probably and not only because it also supports porting NP5/NG2 programs to NP6, but yet it is the first time they do and this is a good piece of news.
