NS4 layer scene II button - same sound different FX?
I can't seem to do this:
For example (hypothetical - just to illustrate)
Layer scene 1 - white grand layered with harpsichord - dry
Layer scene 2 - white grand layered with harpsichord with reverb and delay
My actual situation is that I have a clav and harpsichord layered together with wah / amp and verb and I wanted a way to quickly switch to the same 2 sounds but with different FX using the layer scene button.
I can set up two different programs so not a biggie but I just wanted to check I'm not missing anything with regards the layer scene button.....

By design, effects are assigned to the layer so whatever effects you use on that layer for Layer Scene 1 will be the same if it's used for Layer Scene 2. An option would be to assign morphs to the MW or Control Pedal to increase/decrease effect amounts. Good luck

Another option would be to have a harpsichord sample in the synth section... then you can use Layer Scene to switch between 2 white grands (one in each piano slot; one with, one without reverb) and two harspichords (in the first two synth slots; one with, one without reverb).
It's not elegant nor what you were trying to do, but the result would be the same.

A good option if the Nord Sample Library 4.0 was fully populated. I just checked and unfortunately there isn't a Piano category posted yet where one would find the harpsichord.spradders wrote:Another option would be to have a harpsichord sample in the synth section... then you can use Layer Scene to switch between 2 white grands (one in each piano slot; one with, one without reverb) and two harspichords (in the first two synth slots; one with, one without reverb).

Re: NS4 layer scene II button - same sound different FX?
Yes, It's a pity. That's a severe implication. But I found a suitable workaround by swapping the instruments within a section from A to B (to C if applicable).
Your example would look like
Layer scene 1
- Piano A: white grand layered with harpsichord - dry
- Piano B: turned off/empty
Layer scene 2 -
Piano A: turned off/empty
- Piano B: white grand layered with harpsichord with reverb and delay
You "fool" the system into there believe that's completely different instruments as you "break" the logical connection and all of a sudden it accepts and performs the intended changes. However, a swift morph between the two layer scenes isn't possible as such but needs to be assigned to a morph in Layer scene II and needs to be triggered by assigning it to e.g. a pedal or the morph wheel.
The advanced scenario could look like:
- Piano A: white grand layered with harpsichord - dry
- Piano B: Wurly without effect
- Synth A: Pop Bass with low volume
- Synth B: turned off
Layer scene 2 -
- Piano A: Wurly with effect
- Piano B: white grand layered with harpsichord with reverb and delay
- Synth A: turned off
- Synth B: Pop Bass with high volume
I hope that helps. Keep on rocking'

Yeah! This is working with the available Options instead of waiting for updates - that´s the Way!The Happy Keys wrote: 19 Feb 2025, 22:21 Yes, It's a pity. That's a severe implication. But I found a suitable workaround by swapping the instruments within a section from A to B (to C if applicable).
