Hello all,
it's my first posting here and I'm no native speaker so please bear with me.
For a view days I'm the proud owner of a Stage 4 73. I love to play it but I have to setup my own sounds for the custom sounds do not fit my needs (I'm a bit disappointed with those). But that will take some time. Nonetheless I want to use it already during the next gigs.
I decided to start using my old sound system (Linux laptop with Pianoteq, SetBfree, ... installed) and use the NS4 as a simple Masterkeyboard in the beginning and create my own sounds gradually. I started to create simple programs on the NS4 to have my old program names on the NS4 and send Program Change messages to the Linux system to switch it to the correct sounds. More or less this works well (PC messages, note on/off, volume pedal etc. are sent as expected) but I'm not able to solve one problem.
It's the "rotor pedal" status that I'd like to send also in Extern mode (via MIDI) to the laptop to toggle the Leslie. I cannot find any hint in the manual how to solve this. I'm afraid it's not possible and I have to find another solution.
Do any of you fellows have a hint to push me into the right direction?
Sending Rotor Pedal or Food Switch changes via MIDI to external expander - possible?

According to the manual, rotor speed is CC108. Doesn't that work?
I'm not sure on which channel this will be sent - maybe global. You'll probably know about the different MIDI channels and also MIDI CTRL needs to be set to Send or Send & Receive.

Oh, thanks a lot! That was quick help. I had switched global off due to a hint from someone on YT explaining best practice for using external gear. After switching it on I can see the 108 coming in. I'm grateful!
------ Edit ----------
There is a drawback in switching Global on:
Formerly (Global off): Using internal programs MIDI was not send to the external laptop only with the newly created ones that uses 1 Extern layer only.
Now (Global on): Midi is sent always to external laptop (for each program) and by switching from external to internal sounds I additionally have to mute the laptop sound that are routed to NS4's Monitor In. That is inconvenient for there is no possibility at the NS4 and I have to look how to solve it.
