Nord Wave2 in Mono?

Post by swbeach3 »

If I connect the Wave2 audio out using only the LEFT OUTPUT, will I be receiving a MONO signal of left & right outputs?

I did this in a test, and the PAN control of each Wave oscillator seemed to do nothing, which makes me think that YES, this is what's happening.

I'd appreciate your comments.

I believe that you get only one channel. That is what the manual says.

Yeh, it doesn't work like other synths where you can plug a cable into mine channel and get a mono signal.

With the wave 2 you will have to take an output from each channel and use something like a stereo to mono cable.
When I rehearse with the wave 2 (the only time I need mono) I use one of two options:

1. I use a left and right into two channels of a Roland Amp.

2. I use a TRS cable from the headphone out straight to a Behringer MA400 (switch set to mono) then take a single TS cable out of that to an amp or mixing desk.

The MA400 is a great little box! I've used them for on stage for the last 15 years to combine my keys and my vocal into my personal monitor.
