Use Roland DP10 Sustain Pedal on NS3 - Half pedalling?
Use Roland DP10 Sustain Pedal on NS3 - Half pedalling?
I want to use a more solid sustain pedal on my NS3.
The Roland DP10 would be ideal. I also know this supports half damping on Roland keyboards.
What I would like to know is:-
- Will the DP10 on NS3 be plug/play for basic sustain (on/off) - I would think this is a given?
- Would I have to modify it to enable half damping?
I’m not interested in the pedal noise function.
Someone modded the DP10 here but I can’t tell whether the mod was necessary for half pedalling. Clearly it was for pedal noise.

Anyone using the DP10?
Thanks

Re: Use Roland DP10 Sustain Pedal on NS3 - Half pedalling?
The Roland DP10 works in Switch mode (as a simple on-off switch) but will not work in Continuous mode on NS3, natively. I have one and I use it as a switch.
That mod you linked seem to work somehow but it does not follow the nominal design of Nord Triple pedal, in theory if it triggers Pedal Noise it may also do Half pedaling, but not sure if/how properly.

I'll get one for the switch mode.
So has anyone found how to get half-pedalling to work?

Re: Use Roland DP10 Sustain Pedal on NS3 - Half pedalling?
I created an app that enables the triggering of pedal noises using a simple switch-type sustain pedal. It also has a function to convert the sustain pedal presses into half-damper pedal presses. Check it out here: https://www.norduserforum.com/general-n ... 25232.htmlWP63C wrote:So has anyone found how to get half-pedalling to work?

Re: Use Roland DP10 Sustain Pedal on NS3 - Half pedalling?
I tried the Roland DP10 with my Nord Stage 4. It works but unfortunately in reverse, and there's no easy option either in the Nord menus or on the pedal to invert it. I'm thinking though (as I have a spare Roland DP10) to just reverse the wires to the potentiometer inside the pedal - that should hopefully do the trick. If it works I might put a small switch on the rear of the pedal to flip it between Roland/Nord modes.

Here's a mod I did to my DP10 pedal so it now works on the Stage 4. You could make an adapter to do the same thing but I had a spare pedal and preferred to make a permanent job.

That works on NS4 as it supports Nord Single Pedal 2 (NSP2), but this thread is about NS3 which does not.Midinotes wrote: ↑13 Aug 2024, 15:44 Here's a mod I did to my DP10 pedal so it now works on the Stage 4. Ah apols, I didn't realise this wasn't a thing on the NS3. Ignore my post!
